MAY

END OF YEAR PERFORMANCE

2021 Demonstration Show-Offs

During your last class, the week of June 7th – 12th we will have demonstration showoffs in the dance school.

Parents are invited into the classrooms and the students will perform combinations, progressions and a short dance. Parents/visitors are asked to wear a mask while visiting your child’s classroom.

Awards will be presented to students with 4 or more years of dancing at the end of each class.

We ask that all the students wear black dance attire the last two weeks of class. It does not need to be matching. Any black dance clothes you already have are perfectly fine for the performance.

FEBRUARY

TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO STORMS

Dear Dance School Family,

Hello to everyone. What a week we had. The good news is the arctic freeze is out of here and we’re back to good old Texas weather! The bad news is the damage it left behind for so many people across our city. I truly hope and pray you weren’t one of them. Unfortunately, I was.

The dance school was flooded due to broken pipes during the early morning hours on Wednesday. There was about 1.5/2” of water throughout the studio. The teacher office was completely soaked with water from above and the rest of the studio was flooded. As you know, wood and water don’t work well together. Water seeped under my wood dance floors in all three rooms. They don’t look too bad yet so we will see. I have had a restoration company in there since Wednesday extracting water and running dehumidifiers 24/7. They are doing a great job and I was so lucky to get them in there so quickly. So…….with that said, unfortunately all dances classes are canceled for now. I am uncertain at this time how long we will be closed. I am waiting on the insurance adjuster and restoration to complete the drying process to assess what all will need to be done. With any luck at all my floors can be saved and dance classes can continue. We can always dance around a little construction and sheetrock!! I will definitely keep you updated.

I’m truly heartsick for all our kids. Last year we had to close due to COVID and this year we have to close due to flood. I want to keep them dancing and will make every effort to do so. Somehow, someway we will finish out this 45th year!!! Where there’s a will there’s a way!!! Most importantly, I hope everyone stayed safe last week and had little to NO damage.

Once again, I will keep you updated and let you know when classes are expected to return. Adjustments will be made for classes missed.

Take care and much love to all,

Ms. Carol

We are actively watching the CDC guidelines and statewide standards and will provide an update for our health and safety protocols for the 2021-2022 dance year.  More information will be available at registration in August.

COVID-19 Update & Health and Safety Protocols

2020-2021

We are very excited to be open and teaching dance again!  We welcome new students, or students who have not returned yet, to join us in class as soon as you are ready. To ensure the health and safety of everyone, we have implemented the following procedures.  Please feel free to call with any questions or to inquire about classes.

 GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Masks must be worn in the main areas and hallways of the dance school. They will not be required once the students are in class but students are welcome to wear one if they prefer to.

  • Water fountains are closed - please bring water bottles to class

  • Students will be asked to sanitize their hands upon entry to the dance room and during class as needed

  • Dance rooms will be taped off for social distancing

  • Barres will be cleaned after each class

  • If you have a child age 3-6 years of age, one parent is allowed to watch class with a mask on.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP

  • Parents may drop off or pick up at the front door or park and walk your child to the door. If you drop off / pick up please be cautious as other children may be walking out to meet a parent to be picked up. At pick up, you may drive through the drop off/pick up line or park and come greet your child at the main door of the studio. Students will be asked to wait inside the door of the studio until their parent has arrived.  For the safety of your child we will not allow children to run across the parking lot unattended as other cars are pulling in. Please do not block the line if your child is not at the door and ready to go. This will take some time to implement the best and safest procedure for drop off and pick up. Please be patient. Drive with caution. Keep our kids safe.

  • If you need to come in for payment or ask a question please park in a parking space as not to hold up the drop off / pick up line.
